Admissions Essay Coaching Program Details

Overview

Three in-person, one-on-one sessions over several weeks
One online review of the essay with feedback given
These three sessions allow time to focus on one essay, typically the main Common App essay
Sessions are catered to each individual student and can vary based on how far along the student is in the essay process and the student’s individual needs
Students will be assigned work to complete between sessions to make the most of the coaching

What This Program Looks Like:

Session One: 75 minutes. This session includes reflecting on values, reviewing a sample essay, and narrowing several essay topics to one good option. Homework is given to help develop ideas.
Session Two: 50 minutes. During this session, the student will work on refining their ideas, looking at a draft, and thinking about next steps.
Online Review: In between sessions two and three, the student will send a draft of their essay for detailed feedback and comments.
Session Three: 50 minutes. This final session consists of looking at the edits the student has made and offering direction for the final polishing of their essay.
Pricing: the price for this three-session program is $325.

This series allows time for in-depth work on both the main Common App essay and a Supplemental essay.

Session Two: 50 minutes. During this session, the student will work on refining their ideas, reviewing their early draft, and thinking about next steps. We discuss how to extend ideas from the main essay to the Supplemental Essay prompt.
Online Review: In between sessions two and three, the student will send a draft of their essay for detailed feedback and comments.
Session Three: 50 minutes. This session consists of looking at the edits the student has made and offering direction for the final polishing of their essay. We also look at a draft of the Supplemental Essay.
Session Four: 75 minutes: In this session, the student will understand steps needed to polish their main Common App essay. Most of this session is spent developing the Supplemental essay draft.
Online Review: In between sessions four and five, the student will send a draft of their Supplemental essay for detailed feedback and comments.
Session Five: 50 minutes. In this session, the student will work to understand final steps for polishing and submitting both essays.
